MIRIAM QUIAMBAO'S CONTROVERSIAL TWEETS

Former beauty queen Miriam Quiambao apologized to the the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community on Sunday after a Twitter war erupted over her comments about homosexuality. "I'm sorry LGBT. Perhaps I was too harsh with the words I used. Will do my best to be more sensitive. #respect #nobodysperfect," she said late on Sunday in her official Twitter.
Quiambao found herself in the hot seat after she aired her opinions about the LGBT community on the Saturday episode of “The Bottomline.” Quiambao, who was among the guest panelists on the Boy Abunda-hosted program, gave her take on the issue of religion and its relationship with LGBTs. “I’m not a pastor, I’m definitely not an expert but the way I understand it is homosexuality is not the one that makes you a sinner. Actually, sexual immorality is what makes you a sinner,” Quiambao said.

She further elaborated this view in her Twitter account, saying it should be the sin that should be hated and not the sinner. “Hate the sin. Love the sinner. We have all sinned... Forgiveness comes from God. Grace comes to those who believe. Peace,” she tweeted. “Homosexuality is not a sin but it is a lie from the devil. Do not be deceived. God loves gays and wants them to know the truth,” she added.

This, however, drew a lot of negative reactions from netizens. “Most, if not all, homosexuals know wrong from right. So don't say that we are gay because the devil dictated it to us,” said JoiJoifulness. As for MOSHreyes, he said: “Wow I didn't think @miriamq is a homophobe! She thinks were blinded by the truth. You're the one who's blinded gurl welcome to the 21st century!” Twitter user @dbostik also said: “@miriamq I've been trying to come into terms with my religion and now I feel like I'm back to square one since I look up to you. NEVERMIND!” “After watching "Bottomline" I feel sorry for you @miriamq. Alamin mo muna ang at tama at totoo bago ka manghusga ng buhay ng iba,” @Homerspirit posted.

While several netizens don’t agree with what Quiambao said, there were also a number of people on Twitter who were supportive of the beauty queen. Twitter user @terriyaKBoy said: “@miriamq is one hot topic in the gay world right now. Simmer down now, Gurlzzz! She's entitled to her own opinion/say.” @tjbrewed, on the other hand, said “Im so happy to see @miriamq in #Bottomline last nyt. Ppl will say 'don't bring religion,' but wer not bringing any religion but Christ alone.” As for @samuraix23, he said: “@miriamq just finished watching Bottomline about LGBT. Kudos for standing up for the Truth! May God continue to bless u!”

At the end of the show, Quiambao stressed that she is not against LGBTs because everyone is equal in the eyes of God. “God made us all for a purpose. I don’t understand why God made him that way. I feel though that in my knowledge of God, God never makes mistakes and He is not a liar. So however He made him, that’s who he really is,” she said. “However, because God has allowed this to happen in his life, perhaps there is a purpose and at the end of the day, he will be the one to face God,” Quiambao added.

Quiambao also said she never meant to offend anyone with her tweets. “No offense to the LGBT but the Truth is the Truth that comes from God. Take it or leave it. We will all face the judgement seat of God,” she said. “Mahal ko ang LGBT. That's why I am sharing with you the truth. If you are not ready for it, please don't shoot me. I am just a messenger,” explained the beauty queen.

human morality is relative (we do not know anyway God's morality).Belief and faith are as well is relative. We may however be common in our assent that right is right, wrong is wrong, good is good and bad is bad. But our excuses are trying to make morality and immorality conditional i.e on certain condition(s) immoral is moral. Old thinker and spiritual leader in the person of Lao Zi said, "Man should not interfere nature, he should not in any way intervene the course of nature". His (Lao Zi) heart's desire is man should be in harmony with nature. Confucius had almost the same line. Both however did not mentioned a Creator God in their thoughts.True to our being relative, their thoughts may no longer be applicable in this contemporary times. But to say morality is relative seemed to loose the possibility of sin and of God i.e what is immoral to the many can be made moral because they are many who adheres it.In a cannibal culture for instance, killing and even eating man's flesh to survive is acceptable as a matter of practice in their culture. Our thou shall not kill culture may say it's immoral. On trans-gender, we may or we may not in agreement in view of what is moral and what is not. On the issue on acceptance, our (Christian) society is becoming very much welcoming on the members of the 3rd sex. (logic would tell us there really are first and second. hopefully, there will no longer be 4th sex).
Transforming oneself via transplanting e.g from a man to a woman physically is a choice. Whether or not the one doing it is questioning "Nature" of Lao Zi and Confucius or questioning our God is for the individual already. What is certain is that, when you're a man you may looked physically (with all the sex organs)a woman, but the person who did the transplantation in you cannot create a woman cycle, something that only "Nature" and our God can do.When Miriam Q said, God loves the gays, miriam may actually be saying God loves both men and women including the 3rd ones (gays and lesbians). To say discrimination, let's reflect on this. What if the world's beauty pageant organizers will have a Miss Trans-gender Universe, would it not be a common sense to think that the participants should only be those who were transformed from male to female? Unless naturally born women force themselves to participate, then there may comes discrimination also should they would not be accepted? Gays and lesbians are accepted already in the society, but it may be a wrong perspective to say when you already is transformed woman from your being a man you deserve to be considered one among them already because you are not. Would it be fair for women that they (transformed ones) will be treated women when they are actually not? Elementary logic is teaching us "Is" is "Is", that, "Is" should not be "Not-is". So that when one is, then he is, when he is not, then he is not.
Will your demand for Meriam's public apology be giving you ticket or allow you to acquire power of having that cycle needed for a woman as well as reproductive cells for you to be able to produce egg making you capable of giving birth when your gender is already transformed? Will this truth not be more hurting? Reacting gays are the same flock who are already out to propose same sex marriage. And certainly are also out to shout out loud to the world equal rights to be happy (i.e having relations with. Reasoning-out that relationship is not a matter of bearing children but a right and privilege to be happy.

It's not supposed to be controversial because miriam was just expressing what he believed is true. A man may really be made woman. Science can do it. A great challenge for scientists however is to discover way(s)to implant as well a woman cycle into the transformed one i.e woman period. This can still be possible. For now, what science can do is to man a woman by transplanting female organs into his body. This is a dream come true to those who desires to have relations with same sex, and eventually get married (same sex marriage) with his partner. There may come a time that scientists can implant cells including egg cell and have them incorporated in the cycle needed for a transformed one. Actually the act of transforming man to woman is not deceiving people but is an attempt if not an act of deceiving oneself. Because the truth remains even if already had made yourself a woman. Convincing oneself he is a woman because he already had the female organs is something to be pondered deeply upon. It's an act of humility when one accept the truth that when he is born a man he will never become a woman even if he is transformed already. The world is already accepting you with all your being. You may be right to say you are a woman inside man's body but all in you except may be your feelings are of a man. No science can implant nature. Remember, acceptance is never an act of passivity but is an active participation of going thru a process involving everything in us (intellect, will, and spirit)
