NCR RESIDENTS: Hanggang Saan Nga Ba Makakagala?

Ban on cross-border travel was approved by President Duterte earlier today upon the IATF recommendations to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 to other parts of the country, only essential travel into and out of the subject area shall be allowed. It will be implemented from March 22 to April 4, 2021.

The newly placed restrictions places NCR, CAVITE, LAGUNA, RIZAL AND BULACAN UNDER ONE BUBBLE.

That means people in NCR can only go as far as Laguna in the South and Bulacan in the North because they belong to one bubble.

An individual who is blocked at a border, can present proof of residence to pass through.

Non-essential travels are prohibited so stay home, stay safe, always wash your hands and wear face mask and face shield even at home. Pray Psalm 91🙏

How to install your RFID

The guys at Easytrip suggest that you put your RFID on your headlight or windshield. Kindly make sure that you clean the part where you’re going to stick the RFID first with soap and water then pat it dry.

Any contaminants might mess up your installation or the RFID sticker itself. A relative had it installed at one of their installation sites and they put it on his windshield because it is much closer to the RFID reader in their toll booths.

Follow the instructions that came with your RFID, stick it yourself, and you’re done!

You can also watch the instructional video prepared by Easytrip.

I was saddened when I saw this statement below:  Under the first phase of the government's Toll Collection Interoperability Project, Autosweep tags will be readable at the Easytrip System, while the second phase will allow Easytrip RFID tags to be readable at the Autosweep System.

So, while waiting for the full implementation of the readable system, a car owner must secure both kinds of RFID stickers to avoid penalty just in case the car owner has future plans to visit Baguio or Tagaytay. Sigh.

FREE RFID STICKERS AT THE FOLLOWING INSTALLATION SITES

RFID Absolute implementation will be on November 30, 2020.
After that date any motorists whose car is without the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)stickers will be apprehended and will be issued a citation ticket.

RFIDs came about after the Department of Transportation (DOTr) ordered tollways to adopt a cashless payment system to minimize human contact that could spread the coronavirus.

Though tollway operators offers fast and free RFID Installation a motorist must still secure two (2) different RFID Stickers as of press time.

- Autosweep RFID can only be used at SMC Tollways — the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx), Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx), and STAR Tollway

- Easytrip RFID can only be used at MPTC Tollways at
North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), Cavite Expressway (Cavitex), Harbour Link, and Cala Expressway.

MPTC, SMC Tollways
long-term objective are to make their RFID stickers compatible
Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. and San Miguel Corp. Tollways

As of now, MPTC’s RFID is not compatible with the roads run by the SMC.

This means motorists who want to use roads run by both MPTC and SMC Tollways need to have two RFIDs — Easytrip for MPTC and Autosweep for SMC.

The good news is that both companies have agreed to achieve the interoperability of their RFIDs.

Compatibility of RFIDs is important to frequent travelers — like cargo movers, public transport operators, and businesspeople using tollways managed by both MPTC and SMC Tollways.

For example, motorists traveling up north to the Ilocos Region and the Cordillera might have a problem with their RFIDs: NLEx and SCTEx are run by MPTC while TPLEx is run by SMC Tollways.

The same scenario occurs down south: SLEx and Naia Expressway are run by SMC Tollways, but several adjacent expressways like Cavitex and CALA Expressways are under the jurisdiction of MPTC.

Please expect an all-RFID toll collection system in all expressways in the country by November 30, 2020 to comply with the orders from the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Welcome
