Wat Pho (Thai: วัดโพธิ์, IPA: [wát pʰoː]), is my favorite among all the temples in Bangkok, Thailand. Wat Pho is also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. The Reclining Buddha's feet is made of mother of Pearls and visitors are not allowed to touch it.

Wat Pho is a Buddhist temple in Phra Nakhon district, Bangkok, Thailand. It is located in the Rattanakosin district directly adjacent to the Grand Palace. Wat Pho is named after a monastery in India where Gautama Buddha is believed to have lived.

Known also as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, its official name is Wat Phra Chettuphon Wimon Mangkhlaram Ratchaworamahawihan (Thai: วัดพระเชตุพนวิมลมังคลารามราชวรมหาวิหาร;IPA: [wát pʰráʔ tɕʰêttupʰon wíʔmon maŋkʰlaːraːm râːttɕʰawɔːráʔmahǎːwíʔhǎːn]). Hope you remember that name! 

The Buddha statue at Wat Pho is reclining because he is at peace and has attained Nirvana (enlightenment). They said that he is awaiting for heaven in this pose that's why he was reclining.

THAILAND-CAMBODIA: Single Visa

Thailand and Cambodia have agreed on a single visa under the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy framework, effective Dec 27, 2012 turning the two neighboring countries into a single tourist destination for non-visa Asean travellers.

The Acmecs Single Visa pact was signed by Mr Surapong and his Cambodian counterpart Hor Namhong at the 8th meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JC) at a Bangkok hotel on Wednesday morning. Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul said this single visa will help promote tourism in the two countries, making it easier for visitors to obtain visitors and travel between Thailand and Cambodia.

The visa would allow visitors from 35 countries, listed below, to stay up to 60 days in Thailand and 60 days in Cambodia. Tourists would be able to apply for the visa at embassies of either country.

The 35 countries previously announced, but not confirmed today, are:

Ayutthaya (อยุธยา), full name Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya (พระนครศรีอยุธยา), is an ancient capital and modern city in the Central Plains of Thailand, 85 km north of Bangkok. We rode the train from Bangkok for a day tour in Ayutthaya.

Upon arrival, we went to the floating restaurant a few minutes away from 

We cross the river by ferry boat.

We were so impressed with what Ayutthaya could offer. After our tour I must say that it became one of my favorite places on earth.  Ayutthaya Thailand houses the giant smiling leaning Buddha. Shown above in our selfie shot.

People in Ayutthaya, Thailand are so friendly we though they were also Pinoys.






The ruins reminds me of Angkor, Ta Prohm, Phnom Bakheng and Phnom Kulen, where Lara Croft shoot some of her scenes in the movie.

SAWASDEE BI MAI! My Brother and I celebrated New Year 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand. And I LOVE it there~!

Meet Dollar a huge work of art in Thailand. "Dollar 009" an installation that abruptly sits on the chaotic pavement outside and announces the BACC's arrival in a chaotic and crowd area. 


She, for this work is clearly a "she", has been quickly taken into the hearts of the citizens of Bangkok and is already an attraction in her own right with a constant stream of passers-by snapping her on cell phones as they pour along the elevated walkway to the MBK centre and the National Stadium BTS station alongside, and all the time she looks at the teeming masses, aware of them, but ever lost in her own thoughts. 

Dollar, made out of fibreglass and finished in a lustrous white, stands out, a calm figure in a clamouring sea of people and traffic zig-zagging one of the busiest junctions in a busy city. It's an edgy stature though, the artists idea, Dollar-009 isn't comfortable, she's perched too close to the road and looks uncomfortable, and it means it's impossible not to be taken with her and she tugs at your heart strings. You connect with those huge eyes, but you feel awkward, something isn't right.


The artist intended to make dollar look tense (stressed, not relaxed) and not lively to contrast with the environment around her during the day and to resemble loneliness in the night time. 


The name is drawn from the currency of the United States and the influence that country has on the whole world.

Shopping is really really cheap I bought a shirt for 35 baht that is more or less  P 49.00 Please take note that it is made in Thailand, so the quality is good.
