PASIG RIVER: Zooper Cruise

PASIG RIVER: Zooper Cruise

Choosing to save a river is more often an act of passion than of careful calculation. You make the choice because the river has touched your life in an intimate and irreversible way, because you are unwilling to accept its loss. — David Bolling

Do you have a few pesos to spare but don’t have the luxury of time to go to another country? Well, rejoice, you’re in luck because you could experience a wonderful time without overspending, and without cutting down on the fun. You don’t even have to go outside Metro Manila for your sweet escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Philippines is blessed with beautiful destinations, natural and man-made alike. And Pasig River is one of the most beautiful gateway that we should help rehabilitate so the future generations will be able to enjoy it in the years to come, not only by Filipinos but also by the rest of the world.

I’ve travelled extensively in the different places in the Philippines and in South East Asia and I could say that the Philippines is really beautiful.

zooper cruise fort bonifacio.JPG

Of course my travels are mostly diy’s and within a budget and not your typical luxurious, expensive getaway!  Why? Because based on my experience you can have a wonderful time in the different places here in the Philippines even when you’re on a budget. Yes, even if you consider yourself poor. It’s all a matter of planning, proper budgeting, and preparation.

Do you want to experience how it is to travel from Makati to Binondo sans traffic? Well, you can do that! Plus, you don’t need to spend a huge amount to have fun with friends and family this summer.  Not a lot of people know about this hidden treasure that is traversing Pasig River.  All my photos were taken aboard the Zooper Cruise.

zooper cruise stilt houses

I was not aware that there are stilt houses along Pasig River!  All the views on this blog post were taken when I availed of the Zooper cruise! They’re magnificent!

zooper cruise 2

Did you know that you can avail of the Zooper cruise happening every first Saturday of the month from Makati to Escolta in Binondo for Under Php2,000 inclusive of two snacks and dinner? Whoah! You might say, yes kabagang! It is under Php2,000! Imagine the money you can save plus you need lesser time to spend on the commute! This transport solution is very affordable.  It remind me of Singapore amphibian bus and Hong Kong ferry boat!

Zooper Cruise Valenzuela

Our journey began at Alveo Showroom where we had a light snacks then we were then brought by a white coaster to Valenzuela Ferry Station in Makati.

zooper cruise led and tiger.JPG

Look at the Tiger stuffed toy! It is so huggable! The Zooper cruise has a huge LED TV!

zooper cruise seats.JPG

It has comfortable seats and clean comfort rooms.

I think putting an air-conditioned boats in Pasig River is a work of a genius. It helps reduce everyone’s carbon footprint. On average, an average-sized sedan will spew about 575 pounds of carbon monoxide annually, according to an EPA study on emissions. Carpooling could potentially cut that to about half, if more people did it. But, travelling via an air-conditioned boat that can accommodate 115 passengers could actually cut the carbon footprint to almost 1/8!

I was really excited and Zooper cruise did not fail me! I even saw the front view of Malacanang Palace up close via the Zooper Cruise along Pasig River.

Pasig river is very rich in history! I really love all the trivia shared by the boat’s captain Ed Bondad.

I learned from him that there are eight bridges from Makati to Escolta. And that the distance from the Valenzuela port in Makati to Escolta is 27 kilometers. The Pasig River is a river in the Philippines that connects Laguna de Bay to Manila Bay.

Did you know that?

did you know 3

Manila’s old name is Amarula.

In Escolta ferry boat station, they docked the boat and we were given an hour to roam around Escolta in Manila.

Our first stop was the Sta. Cruz Church.

Then we stopped by Polland Hopia Restaurant to buy “Pasalubong” and drink some hot tea and eat black mongo hopia courtesy of Ms. Grace Bondad-Nicolas. Thank you, Ms. Grace.

zooper cruise Polland merienda.JPG

We head back to the boat after our merienda. And we then went back to Makati via the Zooper Cruise.  Singer May Rivera sang her famous “Aray” song and comedienne Mahal entertained us with a song and dance number while we traverse the Pasig River from Escolta to Makati.

zooper cruise may rivera and mahal

Upon arrival at Valenzuela Port,  we boarded a white coaster that brought us to Misono Restaurant where we had our dinner. We enjoyed a bento box dinner consisting of Japanese rice, chicken, breaded pork and vegetables.  I also enjoy a hot calamansi drinks.

Plus dak galbi korean dish. It was delicious!

Zooper cruise dak galbi.JPG

Every time you share rides with someone, like the Zooper cruise there’s less carbon monoxide in the air. When you ride the Zooper cruise, you also get to talk to people and have a wonderful experience and gain knowledge about our not so distant past.

For those who are not fond of solo travel, you can bring your whole family to Zooper Cruise. I bet they’ll have a great time in this cool ride and breathtaking views.

Mr. Robert Yupangco told me that on December 2017, we can hop-on to his newest venture!  An amphibious craft for a sightseeing tour which covers both land and sea! Isn’t that amazing?

ILOILO: Isla De Gigantes

Did you know that the beautiful island of Iloilo called Isla De Gigantes is more accessible from Roxas City in Capiz than from Estancia in Iloilo?

You can fly from Manila or Cebu to Roxas City in Capiz because travel time to Isla De Gigantes is just an hour drive via a private van to Bancal Port in Carles, Iloilo.  Our day tour was arranged by Las Islas Travel and Tours.

We were ferried by a boat provided by Las Islas to Isla De Gigantes.  Travel time is roughly around one hour and a half.  The water was kind of rough when we went to Isla De Gigantes last November. The best time to travel to Isla De Gigantes is during summer months from March to April.

Ilocos: 10 commandments in Ilocano

I am always fascinated with the different dialects we have here in the Philippines.  We’re wired differently and has different set of values.  But it is nice to know that no matter what is your language or dialects, we have the same set of the 10 commandments.

Have you seen the 10 commandments written in Ilocano?  When in Ilocos, try to memorize the ten commandments in Ilocano!

Azalea Residences: A Holiday Haven In Baguio City

Azalea Residences Baguio

Holiday Haven Azalea Residences Baguio is the perfect place to stay after a full day of action-packed team building activities!  I believe big corporations must treat their employees to a huge range of fun and recreational corporate team building activities at Tree Top Adventure and Nature Park and nurture their soul and body at Azalea Residences.

Azalea terraces.JPG

Azalea’s homey atmosphere radiates on each of their 99 suites, which by the way has a complete amenities that can only be found in five-star hotels.

Azalea Baguio Facade

Azalea Residences Baguio is somewhat a tourist destination by itself. Why?  Because of the big Azalea Flower Globe Fountain that welcomes each guests. This majestic flower symbolizes abundance. Yes, in Asia, Azalea represents elegance as well as wealth.

Azalea Giant Ferrero.JPG

It comes in white, red, yellow, purple and pink. Typically, there are five petals for the azalea.

Azalea Residences flowers.JPG

However, there can be azaleas with six petals on it that are all joined at the base of the flower.

Azalea bandicot ferrero

According to my friend Tof, for local folks in Baguio. they call the flower globe the”Big Ferrero” because of its big resemblance to the yummy chocolate brand. Don’t you agree?

Azalea facade

Upon entering the hotel, we were welcomed by the staff.  We were then asked to sit down to relax and were given a welcome drink right after.  Cheers!  Azalea, thanks for the free welcome drinks!

As you know, guests ease into vacation bliss as soon as they walk inside a hotel door and after the customary welcome drink.  Unfortunately, we arrived so early in the morning that a lot of guests has not check out yet.   So, there’s no ready room yet for us.  Our luggages were then taken by the bellboy and the hotel supervisor had it stored somewhere safe because the hotel was enjoying a brisk sale and was to its full capacity when we arrived at around 9 o’ clock in the morning.  So, to wisely make use of our time, we ate breakfast first then we went to tree top adventure park afterwards for our team building challenge!

For this trip, I stayed at room 415 together with four(4) other bloggers.  The master’s bedroom with its own bathroom and bath tub were occupied by the husband and wife team of Cheryl and George, then the other two (2) bloggers stayed at the convertible double sofa bed at the suite’s living room, I on the other hand occupied the room with a single bed.  This two (2) bedroom suite typically costs Php12,000 per night.  They have an ongoing promotion right now, where they offer a room for as low as Php1,100 per person plus plus until end of summer I think.  Better check it on their website.

Azalea single bed.JPG

My room may be small but it offers the privacy that I wanted after a full packed day of team building activities.  I had to go out every now and then to use the bathroom which I shared  with the two gentlemen, Wilmar and Clint.  Not that I am complaining.  It is okay with me because we were able to come up (silently) with a scheduled pattern on who gets to use first the bathroom in the morning so we will be able to join the breakfast together as a team.

The only downside I think, which I hope the management will be able to control are the noises made by passersby and neighboring rooms when they open or closes their respective rooms.  Sometimes, it seems that they were having conversations on the hallway or right in front of my window.  I overheard people talking without intending to.

The staff who prepared my room left the window open inside my room. I had to stand on a chair and pull the window to closed it.  No biggie.  Maybe that’s the standard practice to let the air flowing inside the room?  I don’t know.  It is okay with me.  I just preferred it closed for added security and I thought shutting the window might muffled the noises created by others outside our room.  The LED TV inside my room helped me a lot to divert my attention from the noises to the program shown on television.  So Five (5) stars for the TV!

My little room has a very comfortable bed, two (2) fluffy pillows and comforter so soft I easily drift off into dreamland each and every night.  The two side table balances the bed structure.  I love it that Azalea did not scrimped on the outlets! I had two outlets on each side of my bed!

Azalea fan and wall pictures.JPG

And that is so cool!  I also love their ceiling fan!  It keeps the room really cold inside my room. It is amazing that the room temperature inside my room is similar to a room with air conditioner.  Yeah, you bet, one would think that the room has an air conditioner inside the room.  Five stars for that Azalea. I’ll make a review at Trip Advisor for you.  I am a level 6 hotel reviewer. You deserved it.

The closet has two (2) bathrobes, I used one bathrobe and gave the other one to Clint for him to use while we were there.

The customary slipper is also good.  I even went down each morning using your hotel slippers. Ha ha ha!

Each one of us were happy because we were given individual towels and bath set.

Their kitchen has coffee and tea-making facility, plus kitchen appliances like microwave oven and kitchen essentials like plates and utensils, as well as dining table and chairs.

Tradisyon azalea.JPG

Buffet Breakfast is free at Azalea’s very own restaurant aptly called “Tradisyon”.

Tradisyon resto.JPG

I love their Chocolate de Azalea!!! Made from imported chocolate blocks served to perfection.  Five stars again!

Tradisyon kainan.JPG

On our very first breakfast at Azalea we were fortunate enough to dine at the tent!

Tradisyon tent selfie.JPG

No sleep yet. Picture taken right after we arrived from a four hour trip plus one hour trial and error joy ride from Manila, ha ha ha!

Azasalea dinner day 1

Another notable dish that I super liked at Tradisyon is their sinigang and bagnet! Oh they’re so good I temporarily forgot my name. Ha ha ha!

did you know light blue.png

They also operate a bar lounge aptly called 8 degrees. Simply because Baguio City is eight (8) degrees cooler on any month than any place in the lowlands including Metro Manila.

There’s also welcome fruits and somebody also gave us biscuits. Thank you “somebody” whoever you are.  Thank you Azalea.

I would definitely recommend Azalea Residences for value for money, location, friendliness and cleanliness.  Plus ample free parking for their guests!  I would like to commend the management and staff of this holiday haven!  Keep up the good work guys!

I recommend Azalea Residences Baguio City for the whole family and for corporate gatherings!

AZALEA RESIDENCES BAGUIO is conveniently located at #7 Leonard Wood Loop, Brgy. M. Roxas, 2600 Baguio, Philippines. Azalea Residences is just a short walk from the Pink Sisters Convent, and within a very short commuting distance from Mines View Park, Good Shepherd, Camp John Hay, Wright Park, Botanical Garden, The Mansion and Burnham Park.

Enjoy your summer vacation!

La Trinidad Benguet: Strawberry Ice Cream Marketing 101

Strawberry Ice Cream Forever Marketing 101

Oh, geez!  This particular ice cream vendor caught my attention because of his creativity!

He wrote on a piece of carton the following words:

Strawberry Ice Cream Forever.JPG

20 – Pang Facebook

25 – Pang Hashtag

30 – Pang Instagram

40 – Pang Snap Chat

50 – Pang Forever

Pang patibay ng relasyon! ( It will make your relationship stronger!)

Kain na! ( Eat now!)

Ha ha ha! I don’t know if his strategy were effective though because there’s a lot of ice cream vendors in the area.

I bought mine from an ice cream vendor who gave me ten peso discount, I got the pang forever ice cream for only Php40.

BAGUIO CITY: Unique Way to Discover Nature

My summer vacation in Baguio City would not be complete if I have not tried the canopy ride inside Tree Top Adventure Park.   For nature lovers like me, it is the ultimate natural playground one can experience while in Baguio City.  It provides endless fresh air and space for your mind and body to stretch out and enjoy.

Tree top cha pose

To tell you the truth,  the daredevil in me wanted to try their superman ride, silver surfer adventure ride and tree drop but ended up utilizing the motorized canopy ride only.  The medical team did not allow me to try all the other rides for my own good.  Ika nga, safety first.  They don’t want me to take the risk because of my medical condition.

Canopy Ride

Safety first.

Tree top harness area

First things first, I was made to put on a protective helmet and buckled with safety harness at a designated area.  Then, I was instructed to sit down and wait for my turn.

Tree top platform.JPG

While waiting for my turn, I observed that all the structures are designed to allow trees to grow free of restriction.  That’s nice, I think.

tree top long platform

After a while, I was made to stand and step on an industrial steel matting.  I was dizzy at first when I look down at the open mesh platform on top of the trees.   I then slowly made my way up to the edge of the platform.

Tree top canopy plastic seats.JPG

Then, I was made to sit in a sturdy plastic canopy seat suspended in mid-air.  I was then safely secured and buckled up by the friendly Tree Top assistant.  He also double checked, actually triple checked whether I was properly attached to the wires.  There were words about safety, how to hold the  your cameras tightly with your hands because once it fell down it would be goodbye to your camera na, how to lean back and cross your legs, and mostly, how to just enjoy the view.  It is a good thing that I am not afraid of heights.

Tree top birds eye view.JPG

I was suspended approximately 100 feet above the ground in a harness attached to a thin wire, motorized device and travelling at around 5 maybe 8 km/hr.  I felt so safe. I almost took a nap. Ha ha ha!

Tree top view underneath.JPG

Well, you may think it was so easy for me to say all these because I don’t have a fear of heights.  Well, I may look and sound strong, but I must admit that I was also nervous the first time I look down.  After you get over your initial  nervousness, you’ll get the hang of it and you’ll get to appreciate the wilderness of nature just  below you.   I tried exploring wildlife among the tree-tops but didn’t find any. Maybe next time.  The tree-tops was beautiful up there!

Tree top other side.JPG

I enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Tree Top Adventure’s property located deep within the Cool Cordillera Mountain from a perspective unlike anything you’ve ever experienced!

Summer is the perfect opportunity for the adventurous-at-heart to kick their stiletto heels and soar high in the sky!  Even if you’re a bit nervous at the start, everything will be okay.  You will receive a thorough explanation of all of the quality equipment and hardware used, which eases the fears of even those that historically have a fear of heights.  If you have any further questions about the course or equipment, feel free to call their attention.

Tree top thick vegetation.JPG

Not all canopy tours are created equal! In fact, I had experienced how it was in Beijing in China. And there’s a huge differences when comparing the Baguio Canopy ride to my nervous laden canopy ride in China. The one in China were meant for daredevils because you don’t have any harness only a thin round pipe prevents you from falling down!   Unlike many other canopy rides,  Tree Top Adventures and Natures Park Baguio offers a canopy tour that’s perfect for everyone.  The speed and heights are enough to provide an adrenaline rush, but even small children has no trouble doing the ride through the course by themselves.

Tree top wild flowers

I was transported in three (3) different stations for a bird’s eye view of the amazing nature park.  I saw different wild flowers, trees, and the magnificent partial view of the South China Sea.

Tree top partial view south china sea.JPG

There is nothing quite like seeing the world from a tree canopy,  it’s a new way to appreciate the great Baguio outdoors.  I walked away with memories to cherish and sense of accomplishment.

tree top Canopy ride.JPG

And for you healthy beings,  try to challenge yourself with the different ultimate WOW factor experiences inside the Tree top Adventure and Nature Park!

tree top adventure

Take your pick of the fun work out trekking a portion of the park, or you could opt to indulge in the breathtaking views and the extreme thrill of the Superman Ride or silver surfer adventure ride and the thrilling tree drop.

Explore your senses whilst developing your fitness and reflex skills.

So, the next time you’re in Baguio get up-close and personal with native pine tree and visit the team park located just inside Camp John Hay.

Tree Top Adventure and Nature Park cater for most age groups and fitness levels. Bookings recommended.

Tree Top Adventure and Nature Park is located at Loakan Road, Camp John Hay, Baguio, 2600 Benguet, Philippines.

La Trinidad, Benguet Colorful Houses

benguet colorful houses 5.JPG

A more colorful La Trinidad, Benguet welcome us as we made our way to the famous strawberry fields.

The popular tourist destination is now an eye candy! Painting hundreds of houses in Barangay Balili into one big mural is really nice.

Over 18,000 square meters or 150 houses was painted according to our guide.

La Trinidad is the neighboring town of Baguio City.

BAGUIO: Summer Team Building At Tree Top Adventure

“Sticks in a bundle are unbreakable.” -Kenyan Proverb
 tree top adventure group shot
Last weekend,  I participated in a team building activity with 15 other bloggers at the Tree Top Adventure Park in the summer capital of the Philippines—Baguio City.  It was a breath of fresh air to personally experienced again how it is to be a part of a team building activity.
tree top adventure park logo at the entrance

Tree Top Adventure Park Baguio offers eight (8) unique team games, the first of its kind in the Philippines. The package rate starts at only Php800 per person and that already includes the following:

  •  facilitator
  •  team building kits (name tags, arm bands, and materials to be used for the chosen activities)
  •  and company certificates of participation.
We were divided into two groups. Wherein the other group were composed of 9 individuals and our team had 8 members.  They have an import from Azalea, her name is Maki and Nicole the daughter of the photographer, who also blog! The more the merrier! She’s such a sweet kid I am glad that she also joined the fun!
Team Tanders.png
Team Tanders members.  Photo from Axl

Our team is called Team Tanders ( someone who is old. Matanda.  Aguy!  Slang for Nirarayuma. Ha ha ha! ) Because most of our members are in their 20’s 30’s, 40’s and 50’s I guess even in their ’60’s.

team pia.png
The other team’s name is Team Pia ( I guess because they idolized 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach).

With nature as our backdrop. Everyone had tons of fun during our team building adventure! We were all laughing and everybody is in good spirit.  The cool Tree Top Adventure and Nature Park Baguio has a really positive effect on people.  Nature really heals.  The unique setting helps us to loosen up and the breezy cool air helps a lot. You could see from the faces of each and everyone who participated in the event that they really had a good time!  It brought back memories of my college years and corporate stint.  My mind and my heart were filled with joy and selflessness.  It must be the good quality of air inside the Tree Top adventure that made us more level headed.

Tree top wild flowers

Selfless.  Yes, that’s what you become when you play together with your teammates. That’s the secret ingredient to a champion team.  In order for a team to be successful you have to had ONE common goal.  To row in one direction and to become as one with all of your other teammates.

Our first team challenge was the ABC GAME

Photography by Cha Sy

Our team, which is compose of eight (8) individuals were asked to form two (2) opposite straight lines with four (4) members on each line.  We were made to stand with our back from the back of our other teammates on the opposite side of the Skywalk.  Each team member has to recite one letter from the alphabet, as the team tries to recite all the letters of the alphabet in its proper sequence.

Easy peasy.  Yeah, it seems easy at first, because everybody knows the alphabet by heart, right? But, hold your horses!  The challenge lies on the rule that was set.

The Rules: The person beside you, be it on your left or right and the person in front of you cannot utter the next letter!  Toink! That complicate things, ha ha ha! Plus the 4 meters distance while you’re standing on the opposite side of the skywalk with your back from the other players will greatly reduce your hearing comprehension!

Since, I only got to met some of them once in a while from bloggers event, I am not really close to them.  And in the case of Clint, it is the first time that I met him in person.  So, I am not really familiar with their voices except for Axl and Cheryl.

Lesson learned from the activity:  Shut up and listen.  Lol!  Oh, my gulay!  That’s hard for talkative people like us. Ha ha ha! Imagine, we’re standing on our back, far apart from one another ( a good 4 meters away from the other line that constitute the other four team members and about 2 meters away from my teammate on my left side)

The Secret: Listen intently and louder your voice, be humble accept the fact that you need each other to complete the task!

Yes, I listened intently at the voice of my teammates and shout with all my might so that the next person will be able to hear and deliver the next letter.

Tip: Familiarize yourself with the speaking voice of your teammates, stop, listen intently and deliver what is expected of you!

The valuable lesson I learned was to know how to stop talking and learned how to listen well.  Plus a louder voice could help your other teammates to hear you well so they too could deliver their end of the bargain.  Yes, peeps! Teamwork is wherein eight individuals works as one.

Our best time: 11 seconds. Not bad, huh!

A bar lifting challenge that requires marbles to be balanced in bars.  Our facilitator called it gems!  Personally,  the first time, I’ve heard him saying “gems” I was expecting to see diamonds, sapphire, ruby, emerald, amethyst and the like,  ha ha ha!  But it is marble after all.The bar lifter balance is a fun game that tested our team’s patience and coordination skills.  I am glad that we passed with flying colors!  Perfect!Realization: Communication is key for the success of a team.
Using only our index fingers,  each of us team members, tries to lower a loop from one loop stand to another loop stand as fast as we can without any gems falling.  This activity thought as to practice patience and coordination.  At first, I thought the loop is heavy.   The nice realization? When you’re with a group of people or with your team everything becomes lighter! Yeah!
Since our team (Team Tanders) had finished the first three challenges first, we were asked to wait for the other team ( Team Pia) at the van.   After waiting for them for like forever lol, we headed back to our hotel and ate a sumptuous lunch! I love Azalea’s Sinigang! And the Chocolate de Azalea!  Wait that’s another story!
After lunch, we came back to Tree Top again and face five(5) more challenges.
Cheering Competition
Team work
First challenge: Each team were asked to compose a cheer and execute it. With only a few minutes to prepare,  we brainstorm for ideas and Orlee, our team leader, came up with “We will rock you” song as our entrance “pang gulat” song as we enter the imaginary stage.
My idea was for everybody to shout out each letter of our team and for each team member to execute the letter using body language! Yay!
George,  our “youngest” team member thought our team’s name was T H U N D E R S.  He was so hilarious! He said we’re the only thunders who moves very slowly.   His wife, Cheryl, called his attention and told him that our team name was T A N D E R S  ( meaning old because most of our members are in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s,  Clint was the oldest team member at 26. Ha ha ha!).
Clint came up with the idea of exclamation point because our team’s name has only seven (7) letters. Ha ha ha! Atta boy!
Rence, suggested to imitate UST’s cheer that changed to Tanders became, Go Tanders! Go Tanders! Go, go, go!
We lost in this particular category according to Sir Jace, but one of the judges, Sir Paul said he marked our cheering performance the winner.   Thank you Sir Paul for not settling to a recycled cheer performance from last year, Ha ha ha!
To the other judge, your taste sucks! Ha ha ha! Joke!
Realization:  One of the signs of a great leader is their capability of communicating well with his team, and vice versa.
This one is easy!  We were able to hone our coordination skills and accomplish a perfect cube drop using push and pull strategies in the fastest time possible.  We clock at 26 minutes!  We won this particular game!Being responsible, an effective communicator, a trustworthy listener and being willing to understand different ideas and perspectives, are all qualities that will help us adapt to many different challenges.
Team Tanders,  nailed this particular activity!  Everybody in our team cooperated wholeheartedly and listened intently for the instructions.  And it paid off!  We had zero accident and each of the members had fun time balancing using our hips ha ha ha! The idea of this activity is to strike a balance in the fastest time using a kamikaze-inspired see saw to test the team members patience and communication skills.Because knowing how to adapt is essential for working effectively in teams, in both personal and professional capacity. This is owing to the fact that the workplace environment is constantly changing, as is the world as a global marketplace. Team-work and team building skills have become crucial for success in the corporate sector.
tree top steps.png
Our team, Team Tanders were composed of eight (8) individuals and we relied on one another to travel from one station to another station without touching the floor using only the four planks of wood provided.  It was one of the most difficult tasks we had done during the team building! We’re all sweaty after we successfully surpassed the activity!  If there is trust within the team, productivity will increase and there will also be a boost in the team’s confidence.
Each of us, team members were given short pipes ( around twelve (12) inches long ) which we used to transfer a ping pong ball from one pipe to another that started from one station then finally transferred to another station without letting the ball fall to the ground.
Realization: Conflict within a team is nearly unavoidable because of the varying viewpoints, personalities, experiences, and skills of each team member.  When a team member is facing a difficulty they should feel confident that they can speak with their leader, who will then address the problem, and help resolve it in a professional manner.
This is the final challenge for both teams. We were given  a jigsaw puzzle (cut pieces of a map) that we formed into one whole picture that made us able to see the bigger picture and determine the exact location of the treasure.  Two (2) deignated team members, run and retrieved the treasure after which,  we were given another puzzle to solved.  Almost all of us were so physically and mentally tired that day! I can’t think clearly anymore by the time this activity were presented to us, ha ha ha!
Can you solve this under time pressure?
tree top treasure hunt
Working effectively as a team creates momentum, improves morale, wins contests, and can even save lives!
Team work ROCKS
“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.” – Michael Jordan
We were so happy that our group emerged as the overall champion! The secret?  We just stop, look and listen.  We just enjoyed ourselves, laugh uncontrollably, did our best and followed every instructions given to us and of course we pray together !  Team Pia, with all its bells and whistles lost, aguy! Ha ha ha! Seriously now, though my team, team Tanders were declared officially the overall champion and were awarded with fresh vegetables and mug, I honestly think that both teams wins!  Why? Because each team members selflessly shared their individual time, talent and energy to conquer all the obstacles and fight until the end!
So, congratulations is in order for both teams, Team Tanders and Team Pia, congratulations!   As cliché as it may sound,  I think we should all care about one another and not backstab other team or team members.  After all we are all Filipinos and we belong to the same blogosphere!
Tree top sky.JPG
Doing all these different activities under the Baguio sky and cool environment of Tree top Adventure and Nature Park made me realized that in order to succeed in a contemporary business environment the ability to adapt and to work in the team are the two most essential qualities that could propel you to a greater heights!
So, for all the companies out there, why don’t you try the team building package of Tree Top Adventure and Nature Park in Baguio this summer?  I personally believe, that a company had to have a healthy work environment to have both team leaders and team members to be able to trust and respect each other.  This is vital for a company to continue to grow and improve.
Aside from the standard packages available at Tree Top Adventure and Nature Park, you can customize the Team Building activities that you want for your employees. Yes!  You can come out with your own team building activities that you want to experience.  Don’t worry you’re safe at Tree Top Adventure Park.  They have competent staff members and medical rescuers on standby.  So, I can say you’re in good hands with Tree Top Adventure Park.   Isn’t it amazing? Amazing!
