I know, almost everyone of us know that our skin is our largest organ. It covers our entire body and has a surface area of around 2 square meters. The thickness of our skin varies from 0.5mm on our eyelids to 4mm or more on the palms of our hands and the soles of our feet. In total, it accounts for around 16 percent of our body weight. That's why we have to take care of our largest organ.

During my teenage years, I suffered from cystic acne. They were so huge, gross and very unsightly, I hated looking at myself in the mirror.

My dermatologist advised me to do the following In order to protect my skin from acne both on my face and body. Here are the steps:

1. Take a shower everyday to cleanse my face and body.
2. Wash my face everyday with a mild soap and warm water.
3. Apply toner.
4. Apply moisturizer. 
5. Get at least eight (8) hours of quality sleep.

Soon, it was bye bye pimples and Acne. But because I am a growing teenager, it keeps on coming back. Paying for my dermatologist's advise put a huge hole in my pocket! Showbiz and politics enthusiasts went gaga, (yes, mabaliw baliw) when a series of blind items and intrigues circulated the web and tabloids months ago about the “newly annulled” Philippine Senator and a father of twins, Chiz Escudero and kapuso hottie Heart Evagelista who just broke up with her Brazilian-Japanese model/actor boyfriend Daniel Matsunaga months ago. 

 

Heart and Chiz were reportedly “exclusively dating” in public. See picture below.

The rumor was fueled further when Heart tweeted this:

"I miss you Chiz curls!" heart said on her Twitter account last September 12, 2012.

Chiz is the nickname of Sen. Francis Escudero, to whom Heart  Evangelista or Love Marie Ongpauco in real life has been linked.

Well, it doesn't take a genius to read between the lines...according to a famous song.

Fast forward to October 5, 2012. Chiz Escudero finally admitted his relationship with Heart Evangelista in Kris Aquino's ABS-CBN’s morning show, “Kris TV.”. Yes, just in time for the campaign period. Though I personally believe that it is unfair to perceived this as election gimmick only, a lot of people can't believe that Heart Evangelista, whose string of ex-boyfriends includes Daniel Matsunaga, Jerico Rosales etc.would fall for Chiz.

A few days after Chiz openly admitted in public that they were in a relationship. Heart Tweet Chiz an advance birthday greetings #Kilig factor for the masang Pilipino.

To which Chiz replied: Thank u ma'am! Good morning...:)

I always believe that age doesn't matter. Although these kind of  relationships between an older guy and a younger woman, inevitably encounter judgments or criticism,  I think, it is only right for the public to give them the benefit of the doubt. One, must take into consideration why a younger woman may be attracted to an older man. Here are several reasons why a younger woman fall in love with an older guy:

• Older men are more stable.
• Older men are most likely to commit 
• Older men are more experienced sexually than a younger woman's male peers. 
• And, yes, not to mention the financial benefits of an older partner. Older men tend to be generous and would shower a younger mate with a lot of material things and travels abroad.
• Emotionally, women develop earlier than men, so a relationship with an older man may be more fulfilling in that way, as well.

People may talk and try to decode the motivation behind why Heart and Chiz are together. I believe they have to stay strong and remember that they don't have to justify their relationship to anyone.

One must remember that every relationship is unique and it would be silly to judge Chiz and Heart's relationsip based on their ages. Perhaps we should start by redefining love and beauty and recognizing that men and women don't just peak during youth. Relationships are more than physical attraction, and it is unfair to think that a May-December romance can't survive. Love exists in all different forms and among all different ages.

Good news to all mom and dad! A very unique attraction opened at Tutuban Center today, October 26, 2012. Aptly called the Tutuban Center Virtual Zoo. It captured not only the hearts and minds of kids but even the kids-at-heart.

Minus the actual zoo animals, the Tutuban Center Virtual Zoo will surely pack ‘em in as wide-eyed visitors will truly marvel at the sights. The Tutuban Center Virtual Zoo is a collage of larger-than-life 3D photos of all the familiar animals in the animal world and then mounted on the blank walls of the cinema lobby.

With these exciting animals in various poses, the entire cinema lobby was beautifully transformed to become a virtual theme park that would provide joy and thrills to every visitor, what with every almost life-like image of animals, from crocodiles to giant spiders, tigers, turtles, sharks, bats, elephants and lions, greeting you at every corner of the virtual zoo.

However, these photos are not just there for people to ogle at. To make it more fun and merry, each wall is already an interactive photo booth by itself that is open to all shoppers and moviegoers. This means everyone is free to pose with the pictures of the animals however they want. You can pose as if the giant croc is eating you, or probably lifting an enormous elephant on its feet. The possibilities are endless, and every pose can only be limited by your imagination. And what is good about Tutuban Virtual Zoo? Admission is FREE!

To celebrate the opening of the Tutuban Center Virtual Zoo, Tutuban Center management lined up today several fun and sometimes heart-stopping activities to make today’s opening truly memorable.

After the registration in the morning, VIP guests and visitors witnessed the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony that formally declared the virtual zoo open. After this, everyone was invited to gamely pose with the photos of the animals in their most wacky or even life-like poses as those with cameras, including the media, clicked away to capture each fun moment.

Simultaneous to the opening of the Tutuban Center Virtual Zoo, a separate activity was also held starting at the Bonifacio Plaza where students from invited schools, different kids’ groups, sponsors and the general public participated in the parade the circled around the Prime Block and Centermall vicinity. They were also treated to an entertaining mascot show and trivia games that thrilled guests even more.

After a hearty snack time, guests were provided with another round of entertaining and hilarious treats like a magic show, mascot appearances and even special appearances by cosplayers who delighted the crowd with their spectacular and colourful costumes of different animé characters.

Finally, a “Parade of Nations” courtesy of kids under the care of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) capped the day’s celebration, while for the entire day, kids had fun with the face-painting activity done by face painting artists, and the human statues who made guests and onlookers smile with their antics.

SAINT PEDRO CALUNGSOD DOLLS: To Inspire children

After the canonization of the second Filipino Saint, St. Peter Calungsod, the Pedrito dolls are envisioned to inspire children to live saintly lives.

 

The Pedrito doll was designed with black hair, round black eyes, a flat nose, and a pleasant expression. The doll is dressed in a simple white long-sleeved shirt and brown pants, with a black bag and a palm leaf, the symbol of Calungsod's martyrdom.

 

The image of Saint Pedro Calungsod arrived Thursday afternoon from Rome at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, where it was greeted by a small crowd of Catholic air travelers and airport employees.
