MANILA, Philippines – A San Beda College student died from injuries sustained in an alleged hazing incident.
The victim was identified on Tuesday morning by his relatives as 25-year-old Marvin Reglos, a freshman law student from San Beda College.
Marvin was brought on Sunday night to Unciano Medical Center by two men on board a red Honda City (WMF 174). He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Two suspects were arrested on the same night Marvin was rushed to the hospital. Alleged fraternity members Erick Edrosolano Castillo, 28; and Bodjie Amorin Yap, 24, were arrested after they went back to the hospital, supposedly to check on Marvin’s condition.
Marvin sustained severe bruises on several parts of his body. He supposedly sustained these bruises during his initiation rites in the unidentified fraternity.
The victim’s remains were later transferred to Antipolo Memorial Homes, where he was identified by his relatives. His father and mother have yet to arrive from Isabela and Korea, respectively.
Lorvie Reglos, Marvin’s sister, said her brother told her during their last conversation on February 18 that he was joining a fraternity.
Lorvie said a classmate of Marvin has agreed to testify on the incident. Authorities have filed murder and hazing charges against the two.
Police said the case is strong against the suspects after they found from their cellphones several text messages, supposedly from other fraternity members, warning not to speak out on the matter or reveal the identities of those behind the alleged hazing.

  1. I don't get it. Joining a fraternity is supposed to be joining a brotherhood. Is hazing necessary to prove worthiness bilang member? Ilang beses na me namatay sa ganito. I don't think yung mga incidents na to will deter fraternities from hazing practices.

  3. HE WAS MY NEPHEW IM WATCHING RIGHT NOW! :'( I MISS HIM AND I HATE THOSE GUYS THAT KILLED HIM :'( I HOPE THEY DIE AND I WISH MY NEPHEW NEVER DIED :'(

  4. He was my classmate in college at UST. Rest in peace Marvin. Condolence po to his family and loved ones.

    Justice for Marvin!

  5. i think the severity of hazing practices by these fraternities were adjusted accordingly. minsan may mga sumasali sa frat na sadyang ayaw ng "grupo" kaya ang kinahihinatnan ay mas malalang initiation. imposible kasi na lahat ng miyembro nito ay nagdaan sa pare-parehong "scale" ng hazing kagaya ng naranasan ng mga nabibiktima.

Will it ever stop? I think the change has to come from within their system. Pero syempre yung may mga power to change it within their frats/soros wouldn't change it because sila ang nakakaexperience ng power.

  8. i couldn't find the right word how to call these people who mishandled unto death a new member of the said fraternity…hindi ko maimagine kung paanong pambubugbog ang ginawa kay mervin,18 monsters against 1 person!!!!mga duwag!!!!!i hope and i pray na mahuli pa ang ibang 16 monsters na nagtatago para mabigyan ng JUSTICE c mervin.

  10. this happens in many more schools in the Phillipines in this one.
Some of my friends go to a high school with 'recollection', a bunch of wierd things you must do or you lose your reputation for some reason.
    Things include;
Shoving a cucumber in your anus-Probably the only issues
Being abandoned ten miles from school and told to return
And, swimming in a rather dark pool trying to find a coin.
