DO-IT-YOURSELF Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park TOUR
FIRST AND FOREMOST WHAT I DID FIRST AFTER OUR HONDA BAY TOUR WAS TO SECURE A PERMIT, A DAY BEFORE MY TRIP TO THE UNDERGROUND RIVER @ THERE BOOKING OFFICE IN DOWNTOWN PUERTO PRINCESA LOCATED AT #11, NATIONAL HIGHWAY, JUNCTION 1, BRGY. SAN MIGUEL, PUERTO PRINCESA CITY.
NOW FOR STARTER, WAKE UP EARLY SO YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO CATCH THE FIRST TRIP BOUND TO SABANG. "EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM!"
From downtown Puerto Princesa just ride a multicab bound to
New San Jose Terminal LOADING ZONE fare per person- P12.00 ( 10 to 20 minutes depending on the vehicle, if it has so many stop over or not)
D'Christ Jeepney leaves @ 7:00 A.M. From San Jose Terminal
7:00 A.M. is the first trip of the Jeepney from San Jose Terminal to SABANG
THIS IS THE 2ND TRIP BUS OF D'CHRIST BOUND TO SABANG it leaves @ 9A.M. FARE is P 125.00/ person
DAILY SCHEDULE OF JEEPNEY:
7:00 AM - D' Christ Jeepney is the First trip
9:00 AM - D'Christ BUS
12:00 NOON- 3rd trip
3:00 P.M.- Last trip
SCHEDULE COMING BACK FROM SABANG PORT
7:00 AM
9:00 AM
12:00 Noon
3:00 P.M.
Sometimes if there's delay, LAST TRIP is at 4:00 P.M. depending if the jeep is full already. You could also tell the driver that you intend to come back with them like what I did, I asked them what time would they be returning to PPP, they said they were scheduled to leave Sabang @ 12 noon, so I told them to please reserved a seat for me,'coz I have a plane to catch in PPP. They alloted a seat for me in front, giving me a chance to take photographs and the driver served as my tour guide, when we passed by beautiful spots.
You could secure a permit in Sabang for P 150.00 per person, just in case you forgot to get one in downtown Puerto Princesa ( not advisable during peak season for you might be scheduled @ 3 o' clock in the afternoon, in which case you would have to stay overnight in Sabang.)
Choose between hiking for almost 1.5- 3 hours depending on how fast you are @ the Monkey- trail(5.2 km.) or Jungle- trail ( 5.3 km) or hire a boat for P 700 good for 6 people you could share it with other tourist like what I did since I went solo to Sabang. Beware of Monkey who snatches anything in plastic bags, it is better not to bring any food if you choose to do the monkey trail.
Summary of expenses:
Downtown PPP to San Jose terminal loading zone P 12.00
Jeepney fare to Sabang P 125.00
Permit inclusive of a 45 minute-boat ride inside
the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park,
plus the use of lifevest and helmet P 150.00

Boat ride from Sabang Port to the location of Puerto
Princesa Subterranean River National Park
( only 5 of us were on the boat so it is P 146 per person,
cheaper if you are 6 people,it would cost only 120.00/pax)
1 whole boat is 700 plus 3.00 each terminal fee=P 718
for a group of 6 people P 146.00

wow..very informative. thanks for sharing, by the way punta kami ng PPP sa dec. 05 sana maturuan moko ng mga pasikot sikot and mas murang way para makapasyal at ikot ikot. pricey din kasi kung laging mag rerent ng van since dalawa lang nman kami ng frend ko na mgpupunta.
Thank you! Sige po if may itatanong ka post mo lang po dito! Maraming salamat.
hi.. how many hours is needed for ug tour? what is a good iti for 3d/2n? tia
ug tour is 5 hours including travel time going to UG but excluding travel time going back to PP.
The jeepney left at 7 a.m. and we reached UG at around 9 am then from 9 until 11:30 a.m. we toured UG, we then went back to the port of Sabang and rode the 12 noon jeep going to PP.
I hope I was able to help. Happy trip! Enjoy!
3 day 2 nights
1st day- secure permit for UG the ff. day. right after your Honda bay tour
2nd day- UG tour
3rd day- city tour
Hi! This is very helpful. Planning to go to PP August next year. Hope di masyado maraming turista sa UG Tour by that time. We only have 2 full days lang kasi to explore UG (day 1) and Honda Bay (day 2) + city tour if time would permit. We'll be arriving at 5PM (if plane is on time)on a Sunday so next day pa ko pwede kumuha ng permit namin. Hay, sana may online booking na rin sila para sa mga tourists coming from as far as Mindanao.
thanks very much for your post! very informative! CREDITS to you! If I'm from PP, I'd treat you for a tour annually!
Anyway, we're going on FEB this year.. ;)
We're on tight budget cause I'm going with cuzin and siblings na students pa! Suggestion please on good place to stay for group of 5? Easy lang ba do-it-urself tours namin? Approachable ba mga tao if mag tanong2 kami? Thanks!!!
so walang kuhanan ng permit para sa Underground River Tour kapag sat-sun? Hay pano kami makakapunta nyan e ang dating namin diyan sa PP ay gabi ng friday Feb 11 at 7pm. Any options pwera lang tour package ha..Kasi nagttipid kami e, kya DIY kami.hehehehe Please help!!!!
Wow, your post is so informative and helpful! Thank you! =)
You are most welcome anonymous!
super thanks!
hello!is it possible for a person wd disability to have an ug tour?my husband can walk but not that long stretch..planning to go to ppp on june with my 2 kids as well.
how many meters is the longest capacity of your husband to walk? 'coz even if you have a private van, you still have to walk going down the boat ( Banca ) then it is about 15 minutes boat ride going to the island where the ug river is located and then you have to submerged in the water (almost knee deep) to get down the banca toward the island, then after registering you would be ordered to put on the helmet and life jacket,( your husband could take a rest here, 'coz there's a lot of bench and tables around this area plus monkey and bayawaks too.) Then you would be walking towards the river(about 5 minutes walk depending on how fast you walk) @ the wooden floor towards the direction of the jump off point of a smaller boat that would navigate inside the ug river.
I hope it gave you an idea. Thanks for passing by!
